If your image sources arrive in mixed formats, it can help to convert images on download instead of running a separate conversion tool later. This is useful when a project needs consistent JPEGs, WebP files for web use, or PNG output where lossless quality or transparency matters.

When conversion during download helps

Conversion is useful when the final destination has a preferred format. A website might use WebP for compression. A legacy platform may expect JPEG. A design workflow may need PNG. Setting the output format during the task can reduce the need for a separate batch converter.

It is also useful when conversion is paired with resize, filename rules, folder output, and ZIP packaging.

Choose JPEG, WebP, or PNG output

  • JPEG: good for photos, broad compatibility, and smaller files when transparency is not needed.
  • WebP: useful for modern web compression and smaller web assets.
  • PNG: useful for transparency, screenshots, graphics, or lossless output.

PNG is lossless, so quality controls do not behave like JPEG or WebP quality settings.
